Alpe Adria cycle path

from Salzburg to Grado in one week

Fancy crossing the Alps from north to south? Cycling from the city of Mozart over the main Alpine ridge to the sandy beaches of the Adriatic?
The Alpe Adria Cycle Path takes you from Salzburg to Grado with eight stopovers over 410 kilometres of wonderful scenery and a total of 2,400 metres of ascent. You should definitely plan detours to the many attractions along the way - for example. A trip to the Bluntautal valley near Golling or the Eisriesenwelt Werfen, a visit to the Liechtensteinklamm gorge in St. Johann or a dip in the Gastein swimming lake.
From Böckstein in the Gastein Valley, you can take a leisurely shuttle ride south of the main Alpine ridge to Mallnitz on the Bahn-Tauernschleuse railway. On the Carinthian side, there are a further six stages to the Adriatic Sea.
